Banca de Economii S.A. informs you that, according to the Decision nr. 141 of June 21st 2012, of the Council of Administration of the NBM, IBAN code (International Bank Account Number) is introduced as a mandatory data in cross-border payment orders, made via SWIFT starting with January 1, 2013.

IBAN is a code used to uniquely identify the account of a customer at a financial institution (Banca de Economii S.A.) which will substitute existing account numbers for cross border payments in foreign currency via SWIFT.  IBAN allows account numbers to be validated more simply, quickly, and reliably all over the world.

Thus we notify you about mandatory including of IBAN code in payment orders as for outbound money transfers as well as for inbound money transfers starting with January 1, 2013.

 In this regard kindly follow the directions below:

IBAN code (International Bank Account Number) is introduced as a mandatory data in cross-border payment orders, made via SWIFT starting with January 1, 2013.

All the transfers that do not contain the IBAN Code will be RETURNED. In order to ensure automatic processing of customer transactions it is necessary to inform your business partners about mandatory indication of IBAN code in cross border payment orders starting with January 1, 2013.
