Currency reserves of the National Bank of Moldova have reached the new historical maximum having exceeded the par of $1,2 mlrd.
The NBM informs «InfoMarket» agency, on November 9, 2007 the currency reserves of the NBM made $1216,39 mln. As compared to the previous week they increased by $51,53 mln or 4,4%. By the data on November 2, 2007 the currency reserves of the NBM were 1164,86 mln. It was earlier reported, currency reserves of the NBM exceeded the historical par of $1 bln late in August 2007. At the end of December 2006 the currency reserves of Moldova were $775,29 mln, at the end of the I half of 2007 - $878,52 mln. The Prime Minister Vasilii Tarlev has noted that constant increase of currency reserves proves financial stability of the republic and creates good conditions for attracting foreign investments into the country.
