In january-june 2007, volumes of industrial production of Moldova made 11770,9 mln. Leis ($968,8 mln.), decreasing by 0,3% in comparison with the same period of 2006.
As «InfoMarket» agency was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, reduction of industrial production was stipulated by the decrease of output at the enterprises engaged in production of wine (2,2 times), distilled alcohol drinks( 1,8 times), tobacco(8,8%), machinery and equipment(6,7%), production and distribution of electrical and heat energy (6,6%), clothes(2,7%). Meanwhile, production at the enterprises involved in cutting, manufacturing and finishing stone grew 2,4 times as much. Production of medical, exact and optical equipment grew 1,9 times as much, medicines and pharmaceutical production - 34,3 %, ready metal goods -26,5 %, paper and cardboard - 19,9 %. The enterprises of mining industry increased output by 18,5 %, iron and steel industry - 3,1 %. Production of furniture grew by 10,3 %, footwear - 2,1 %, carpets- 1,8 %. According to the National bureau of statistics, in January-June 2007, volume of production at the enterprises of food industry and beverages decreased by 11,8% - up to 3239,3 mln. leis ($266,6 mln.). At the same time, production of flour-grinding goods has doubled, production of mineral water and soft drinks grew by 37,8 %, fats and oils - 29,9 %, meat, meat products and canned meat- 22,3 %, cocoa, chocolate and confectionery products from sugar - 21,3 %, beer -19,2 %, green-grocery canned food -17,8%, milk and dairy products - 4,2 %, respectively.
