By the end of the first quarter of 2007, total external debt of Moldova made $2598,96 mln., increasing by $137,36 mln. or 5,6% in comparison with the same period of 2006 .
As «InfoMarket» agency was informed in NBM, short-term external obligations made $973,56 mln. or 37,5% from the total sum increasing by 7,1%, in comparison with the first quarter of 2006. Long-term external obligations of Moldova increased by 4,7% -from $1552,56 mln. to $1625,4 mln. According to NBM’ s data, by the end of the first quarter of 2007, external state guaranteed debt of Moldova made $873,89 mln., decreasing by 0,3% since the beginning of the year and private non-guaranteed debt grew by 1,1% - from $1584,87 mln. to $1725,07 mln. At the same time, short-term private non-guaranteed debt grew by 1,07% - from $876,14 mln. to $939,46 mln. and long-term debt –by 1,1% - from $342,68 to $385,87 mln., respectively.
