Within last ten years in Moldova the indicator of GDP per capita has doubled –from $470,7 in 1996 up to $936 in 2006.

As " InfoMarket " agency was informed in the National bank of Moldova, GDP of the country has grown 5,6 times as much- from 7,8 billion leis ($630 million by the current NBM rate) up to 44,06 billion leis ($3,5 billion). The government of Moldova forecasts that in 2007 GDP of the country will make 49,7 billion leis ($4 billion) and increase by 5% in comparison with the last year. In 2008-2009 growth of GDP of Moldova by 5 % - up to 56 billion leis ($4,5 billion) in 2008 and up to 61,9 billion leis ($5 billion) - in 2009, is predicted. It is planned, that in 2010 growth of GDP of the country will make 4 %, and 67,3 billion leis ($5,4 billion) in nominal expression, respectively. It is expected, that the inflation rate will reduce and make 10% in 2007, 8% in 2008, 6% in 2009 and 5% in 2010, accordingly. For the next three years, experts of the ministry of finance and NBM forecast devaluation of the national currency. According to forecasts, average exchange rate of Moldovan lei to USD will make 13,2 leis/USD in 2007, 13,4 leis in 2008, 14 leis in 2009 and 14,2 leis in 2010.
