The RM government has approved the amendments to the law on the National Bank to provide for the genuine in dependence of this institution.
The amendments rule out any external influence on the NBM in pursuing its policy, providing for the independence of the members of the Administrative Council in executing their functions. According to the explanatory note to this Bill, the amendments must make the NBM juridical status more transparent, to change the NBM main objectives, to specify its powers, to provide for the equality between the NDM independence in executing its power and the NBM cooperation with the authorities. Besides, according to the amendments, the direct crediting of the government by the NBM is excluded.
